Testimonials
Coming from someone who has been taking professional level dance classes in New York City for the past 12 years, I have to say that Austin Eyer's theatre dance class is one that I constantly find myself going back to. Austin's calm and focused energy creates an awesome atmosphere that allows the dancer to feel comfortable and intent on bettering their dance technique and ability to act through movement.
His unique full body warm-up, consisting of a blend of traditional jazz technique, center barre, yoga and Pilates, truly focuses and prepares you for the class while strengthening and building flexibility.
His combos encompass a wide variety of styles including traditional theatre, Latin, and contemporary. His use of dynamics and musicality in his choreography challenge the dancer to really listen to the music and make stronger movement and acting based choices.
One of my favorite things about his class is that he often includes "dancer's choice" options. This allows dancers of all levels to work within their own skill set, or gives them the opportunity to challenge themselves and to grow their technique with a more advanced option.
I highly recommend his class to everyone. Whatever your dance experience is, there is something valuable that can be taken away from Austin's class. The warm-up always strengthens my technique, the variety of styles are always fun and challenging, and I have a better understanding of musicality from taking his class. Although he is a Broadway veteran, it's clear that one of his true talents lies in teaching and shaping the careers of dancers.

Austin is an excellent teacher and choreographer!!! I have worked with him first hand as his assistant and also as a student in his class. He teaches with detail and patience, always catering his class to every level in the room. His classes combine a balanced blend of strengthening, technique building, and diverse choreography that helps students to flourish and grow. His experience working with some of the best choreographers and directors in New York also lends itself to his teaching and expertise, as he is truly qualified to coach students on how the "real world" of theater works. He personally has helped me grow into the professional I am today and for that I'm extremely grateful! He would make a truly wonderful addition to any teaching faculty.

I have known Austin for the past 10 years, I first met Austin when I was studying dance and theatre at NYU as a freshman where Austin was a dance instructor at the time. I have taken many dance classes with Austin and they have all been FANTASTIC! He is creative, charismatic and cares for all of his students. His classes are fun, professional and I always leave having learned new choreography and improved my technique.

Austin is an extrememly talented choreographer. He was able to take our concepts for the dance numbers for Boys Just Wanna Have Fun and make them even better than I had envisioned. He was also super patient with the cast, none of whom were professional dancers (and many of whom had two left feet!) I hope to work with him again on future projects.

After working one on one with Austin, as the choreographer of CAP21's production of Children of Eden, I knew he was someone I wanted to continue studying with. I have been taking his class since then and not only has my technique improved, but my ability to learn combinations at Broadway audition speed. In my experience, Austin is one of the few New York City teachers who helps EVERYONE in class, from beginner to professional level. As a young, aspiring Broadway dancer, Austin is always available for advice and generous with all of his insider stories. Austin Eyer is an excellent teacher/choreographer and an all around great person.
- Madison Eastman (Dancer, New York City)
Austin completely opened up the wonderful world of dance for me, inspiring me even years later to continue with physical theater. In under a year's time of studying with Austin, I was able to journey from feeling like a very self-conscious novice to a full-fledged dancer with soulful choreography in multiple shows. His charisma, patience, and unique methods all helped made this possible.
